Telltale Would Love To Make A Star Wars Game

Telltale is currently riding high on the success of its Walking Dead series, but that's not the only hot property that the company would like to work on. That list includes franchises like Halo, Half-Life, and Star Wars.

While speaking with Red Bull UK (of all places), Telltale CEO and co-founder Dan Connors talked about the companies sources of inspiration. "I think the games that we talked about the most during development were Heavy Rain and Uncharted from a cinematic standpoint, and Mass Effect from a choice standpoint.

“For other media we always look at the best episodic series out there - obviously the Walking Dead TV show, but also Game of Thrones and Mad Men, for the way they handle characters and are able to present them with so much depth.”

Telltale is currently working on season 2 of The Walking Dead, but that's not the only game the company would like to work on in the future. According to Connors, "We always felt we could do a great Star Wars story game. We also love the idea of building out a deeper story to a great game franchise, something like Half Life Stories or Halo Stories.”

What franchises would you love to see Telltale tackle next?

  • Yes please!

  • GIVE THEM ALL THREE.

  • Give them a shot to breath new life into established franchises. I'm all for it.
  • TWD is SO much better in the choice departement than mass effect...hard to believe it was an inspiration.
I hope they would do their own franchise , but i'm okay with star wars.
PLEASE no halo or half life though , it doesn't interest me at all , you worth much more guyz!
  • Idk about Telltale working on Halo. Star Wars could work, though.

  • I'd love a star wars story driven game!

  • That would be awesome if they could make games that expand on the lore of existing franchises. I'd personally love to see them cover Left 4 Dead (similar to Walking Dead I know, but they could make it different), Splinter Cell, Uncharted, or like they said Halo.

  • YES, and make the Half-Life one with Barney as the protagonist! Or maybe seeing what happened to Adrian Shepard, since he hasn't been in the series for awhile.
  • Stop fantasizing and get back to work on season 2. Maybe when you finish all 17 seasons that I'm expecting from your masterpiece then you can make a phenomenal Star Wars game.
  • After playing The Walking Dead, I'd give them the OK to do whatever they want. The game was fantastic, and I still think about that ending and all the emotions I had (beat it about 3 days ago). I'd say that Star Wars would be in good hands.

I'd love the opportunity to be a one-armed Jedi slicing his way through a massive horde of stormtroopers or droids
  • I would love a quirky Star Wars game in the vein of Strong Bad and Back to the Future, not Jar Jar quirky but more like the adventures of young Han Solo and Chewie.

  • I would play it.

  • Well they would probably do a better job than Bioware did on their recent SW:TOR....
  • Back to the Future Season 2? Regardless, I'd play a Star Wars series made by them.

  • The Bible. Characters are always doing crazy stuff in that book.
  • Game of Thrones ... telltale... hm nope

  • I would like to see them do Legend of Zelda. Link's inevitable first words should be handled by someone who has proven that they are masters of dialogue, and Telltale has proven that to me.
  • not a bad idea

  • I'm fine with a Star Wars Telltale game, and maybe a Halo one, but I feel that a Half-Life game similar to the Walking Dead could upset a lot of fans... It's not really a story that I feel would benefit from choices or branching paths...
  • 24 or James Bond would be amazing.
