Microsoft Sets Up Mysterious Countdown Clock

by Jeff Cork on Jan 03, 2013 at 03:56 AM

People are clamoring over every scrap of possible next-gen scrap of news, and Microsoft may have chucked a little piece under the table. Microsoft's Larry Hyrb (Major Nelson) has set up a countdown clock on his official blog.

The timer, which was posted under the headline "And it's on..." reaches zero at E3 2013. The annual show is certainly a big deal for all three of the major console manufacturers, so it's not unreasonable that it could merely be a tease to what will end up being another helping of Xbox 360 fare. Considering Microsoft's relatively tame showing last year (and pervasive speculation that new hardware will be announced in the coming months), it's also not a stretch to think that there's more to "And it's on..." than a countdown leading to something along the lines of Kinect Sports 3.

Only time will tell for sure. In the meantime, do you have any guesses as to what we're looking at here?
