The lights are on
The latest free indie game from Vlambeer (Super Crate Box) can only be beaten by blowing up Neo Tokyo (a.k.a. a pixelated grid of buildings) with your Techno King mech.
Techno King plays like a weird cross between a bullet hell shooter and single-screen survival like Asteroids or Geometry Wars. The difficulty quickly ramps up as you destroy buildings, which removes cover for both you and your constantly spawning opponents.
Check out this charming retro-styled top-down shooter for free while supplies last* at the developer’s website.
* Just kidding. Through the magic of technology, your PC or Mac actually creates an exact copy of the original game code according to instructions sent across miles upon miles of fiber-optic and copper cables. Living in the future is grand.

I wish I wasn't shallow about graphics. :(
I thought for a second this was an Akira game. Now I'm sad :(
Nice.
