Angry Birds hit some milestones this holiday season.

From December 22 - 29, the game was downloaded over 30 million times. But even more surprising is just how many people decided to purchase the game on Christmas – a whooping 8 million. Throw in that Angry Bird Star Wars has stayed at #1 on the U.S. iPhone chart ever since its release and the series saw the billion mark for downloads last year, and Rovio has a lot to celebrate.

Is it really any surprise that Rovio announced a movie?

Would you stop with those damn birds already!!!

These Angry Bird games were hyped so much and now everyone with a damn smartphone has one. It really isn't that much fun. It is an incredibly repetitive experience and they are just milking that "franchise" with teddybears and all sorts of merchandise. STOP. IT. NOOOOOW!!!! Go make real games for pc and consoles instead please!

I really don't like these games that much. Star Wars and Space were fun for about 45 minutes.

Im so sick of these birds now...they just over did it with the toys... clothing...shoes....etc. JESUS CHRIST...the game is not that great..you do the same thing over and over and over.

Holy Cow... That is a lot of downloads lol... Congrats Rovio. Its a huge accomplishment.

But a recommendation, start creating different and newer games other than angry birds please.

I have not and will not ever play angry birds. I have a Galaxy S3, 360, Wii U and a gaming PC and it will never be on any of them. I have my reasons...

I really don't understand why a game like that is so popular, there's tones of other games out there that make you do the same thing, and are much more realistic. The game is way to simple, I hope Angry Birds will be forgotten.

You can diss Angry Birds as much as you like, but the craploads of money the franchise is making cannot be denied. And I've got to say, Angry Birds: Star Wars is pretty cool, glad I downloaded it.
