The lights are on
Angry Birds hit some milestones this holiday season.
From December 22 - 29, the game was downloaded over 30 million times. But even more surprising is just how many people decided to purchase the game on Christmas – a whooping 8 million. Throw in that Angry Bird Star Wars has stayed at #1 on the U.S. iPhone chart ever since its release and the series saw the billion mark for downloads last year, and Rovio has a lot to celebrate.
Is it really any surprise that Rovio announced a movie?

So much money earned on such a simple copy...
Cool for them!
Have it on my 360. I play It with my kids. Hoping Star Wars is released on there soon.
They're just going to milk it till it dies...
I really don't understand why a game like that is so popular, there's tones of other games out there that make you do the same thing, and are much more realistic. The game is way to simple, I hope Angry Birds will be forgotten.
Congrats with the success.
That's a lot of birds.
The game is good but doesn't deserve all the hype.
You can diss Angry Birds as much as you like, but the craploads of money the franchise is making cannot be denied. And I've got to say, Angry Birds: Star Wars is pretty cool, glad I downloaded it.
Impressive.
That's way too much. But good for them :)
