Pinball Machine Makes Modern Art

by Ben Reeves on Jan 02, 2013 at 01:16 PM

An art student recently put a pinball machine to work making modern art. If cats can do it, why not pinball machines. Jackson Pollock eat your heart out.

Graphic designer and art student Sam van Doorn put together an art installation built around a pinball machine for his graduation project. The installation is called STYN.

"In a time of digitalization of the work proces, you can easily forget the freedom and fun of play," Van Doorn wrote on his blog. "By creating new tools, you give yourself the opportunity to break free from standards in design. As result of this idea I deconstructed a pinball machine an reconstructed it as a design tool."

For more information about STYN, to buys posters created by the machine, or for information on playing STYN yourself, check out Van Doorn's Facebook page. Check out more pinball created art below.
