The lights are on
Nintendo Buddha, Shigeru Miyamoto said that he didn't like the design choices made during Pikmin 2, and that the third entry will be more in line with the first Pikmin game.
During a recent interview with the UKs Official Nintendo Magazine, Shigeru Miyamoto said, "Our main aim in Pikmin 2 was to get rid of any stress as much as possible, so that it would be very user-friendly. Well, I myself couldn't agree with that direction perfectly. That kind of nature of Pikmin 1 was exactly what I wanted to reproduce and I was actually intentionally doing so, so that Pikmin 1 could be a strategic game."
We're not sure that the change is necessary since we like the direction that Pikmin 2 went, but we'll just have to wait to see how Pikmin 3 turns out before we pass final judgement. Which game in the series did you like better?

If game creators only made games that sold better then we would have nothing but *** games like COD,Mass Effect and Halo.
Well, that's alright I guess.
I thought 2 was highly superior for some time.now I think it's just superior, but still being one of my all time favorite games.
this game will be good if it has the challenge of the original and the variety and exploration of the 2nd
The time limit is what turned me off with
Pikmin 1 just like Dead Rising.
I gonna buy an Wii U when this game comes out! Can't wait!
I liked two better. I felt like I could take my time and do what I wanted rather than being forced to focus on the objective of getting off the planet. But I will play it no matter what. They are both great games.
Didn't play either so this decision has no bearing on me.
I like 'em both equally, to be honest. However, I have to give the edge to the first game for pretty much the same reasons as Miyamoto. He's right, the limit is what made the first game the strategic challenge it can be. The second game is great too though.
I just hope that Pikmin 3 can find a good middle ground, incorporating the best of both previous titles. Maybe give us that limit again but let us have the help of a friend as well, with other multiplayer games! Maybe a bigger version of Pikmin Adventure from NintendoLand?
I always liked Pikmin 1 a bit more than Pikmin 2. Pikmin 1 had stronger enemies and the timer made you appreciate every pikmin you had.
I like all of them even if haven't played Pikmin 3. Pikmin is Pikmin and will never change, if it does then it's ruend.
I liked Pikmin 2. The time limit was kinda annoying. I get why it was there, but I just didn't like it.
