The lights are on
Nintendo Buddha, Shigeru Miyamoto said that he didn't like the design choices made during Pikmin 2, and that the third entry will be more in line with the first Pikmin game.
During a recent interview with the UKs Official Nintendo Magazine, Shigeru Miyamoto said, "Our main aim in Pikmin 2 was to get rid of any stress as much as possible, so that it would be very user-friendly. Well, I myself couldn't agree with that direction perfectly. That kind of nature of Pikmin 1 was exactly what I wanted to reproduce and I was actually intentionally doing so, so that Pikmin 1 could be a strategic game."
We're not sure that the change is necessary since we like the direction that Pikmin 2 went, but we'll just have to wait to see how Pikmin 3 turns out before we pass final judgement. Which game in the series did you like better?

so pretty much they are saying there is barely any innovation..bravo miyamoto, i can count on you to feed the mass the same thing over an over for years...
I think the second was the superior game. it just felt more polished and had more stuff. however, nostalgia commands me to like 1 better.
Um, I like having no day limit, so PLEASE don't Miyamoto.
The second was the better one. No day limit, that made 2 far superior.
That's fine. I favored Pikmin 1 over 2 mainly because the layer of strategy
I haven't played any of them.
I hated the time limit in Pikmin 1. It made me stressed and I couldn't enjoy playing the game. Pikmin 2 I fell in love with.
The day limit was a little annoying in the first one. At least at first, but when I was wrapping everything up with emperor bulblax being all that was left and had one day to do it, it felt so satisfying to escape with 100% by the skin of my teeth.
Pikmin 1 was more challenging with more of a time-limit, but I wish we could go with Pikmin 2 and just do whatever we want whenever we want. I trust Nintendo, though, so it'll probably be fantastic anyway.
There were things I liked about both of them, and I personally like having a Pikmin game where I'm forced to manage my time, but I also enjoyed having a game where I could prepare for a long time, and explore for as long as I want. Personally, I'm excited to have another game that makes me be more strategic with my time though.
please dont have it be timed again
I liked 1 more because I liked the 30 day time limit. I tried to impose my own time limit in 2, but it just wasn't the same. Normally I hate time limits, but Pikmin did it well in my opinion.
This is about the only game I'd consider getting on the Wii U that's been talked about... That's not to say I wouldn't like Super Smash, Metroid, and Star Fox, but as it is, the Wii U is lacking.
cmon nintendo, dont bring back the 30 day limit. pikmin 2 was strategic enough, i felt like i was too constricted in pikmin one.
I liked Pikmin 2 much better than the first one especially because it got rid of the time limit, so I'm a little concerned now.
In my opinion 2 was 10x better
Good! I like 1 a bit more than 2, even though I was pretty frustrated with the 30 day time limit.
