The lights are on
The new year is kicking off in style with news that the NES classic Super Mario Bros. 3 is coming to the 3DS store January 1. That is, it's coming to the Japanese store that day.
The game will cost a cool 500 yen, which is about $5.80. That's a small price to pay for what's one of the best Mario games around. Dan is convinced that Super Mario World is better, but every sane person knows that Super Mario Bros. 3 is the (slightly) better game.
There's no word yet on whether the game will be available in the North American 3DS store. We've reached out to Nintendo, and we'll update this story if we hear anything.

1st: that would great.... to replay a classic
I'm with Dan, Super Mario World is my fav. Both are amazing, but World moved me more. Maybe spending money on The Wizard and walking away slightly fulfilled may be a bit of a factor too...
Sweet. I wish they would put some awesome SNES games on it. I would love to be able to play all three Donkey Kong Country games on my 3DS...btw, Super Mario Brothers 3 was always superior to Super Mario World in my opinion.
hope they come to the N.A 3DS store.
ehh japan normally gets everything a bit before us :/ ... i'd assume we'll have it in 3-6 months
My vote goes to Mario 3.
