Minecraft Sells Nearly Half A Million On Christmas

Minecraft is available on nearly every system known to man at this point, meaning it's really easy to buy. And people are buying it! The game sold 435,000 copies on December 25 alone.

Markus "Notch" Persson tweeted about this achievement earlier today (later correcting the date). It seems that a lot of people felt like playing with digital blocks after opening presents. Congratulations Minecraft! Notch probably has enough money to buy a small island nation now.

Its still fun, and its a great all around family game. Minecraft on the 360 is probably the best move Mojang ever made.

Well merry Christmas to a population the size of a large city, now we can all not get any work done together. Also, MINcraft sounds like a game which simulates the life of an average Minnesotan. Complete with a warped sense of temperature and compelling urge to be nice to everyone you meet.
