The lights are on
Hot on the heels of Square Enix's announcement of a new beta roadmap for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the developer released a video that shows one of the game's instanced dungeon in action. The dungeon of note is the Tam-Tara Deepcroft. This footage is taken from an alpha version of the game, so take what you see with a grain of salt.
The beta for the PC version starts in February. PlayStation 3's beta doesn't have a start date, but is slotted in to the third phase of the beta roadmap.

it looks... good! much closer to what i initially expected from the first iteration of this game, before i actually saw it.. reminds me a bit of ff12
it looks good, compared to the first. cant wait to play this.
Funny now they are starting to show alpha footage on GI even though there is a bunch more than just this.
I'm looking forward to the PS3 version.
Looks nice and crisp. I agree that it is very reminiscent of FF 12 with the action bar, damage\heal numbers popping and character movement. Not a bad thing at all as if FF 12 had been made into and MMORPG it would have been amazing. Good move Square.
Well, it looks a little bit better...
This game will be mine.
Remember, all of this content is subject to change. So they could just scrap the entire thing and start over again if nobody likes it. They should have put that on the front of the box of the first release.
Can't wait to get back into FF14.
Just looks like the same old boring WoW tab target combat. When will mmos evolve past this. Oh ya, they already have in Tera and Blade and Soul.
Well it looks good so far, very interested in playing the beta when it comes out for PS3 next year. Hopefully PS Plus members will have access, might try it out on my Mac if they have a mac client as well. We will see how this game progresses in the future, looks promising if I say so myself.
This looks very promising. Hope it turns out good for all platforms.
