The lights are on
A clever Ubisoft forumgoer pulled this slide from the Ubisoft Kiev Facebook page, which seems to indicate a Ghost Recon Future Soldier sequel to be in the works.
Referred to as “GRFS: Next,” the sequel would seem to be not in development at Kiev but at some other (presumably internal Ubisoft) studio.
Future Soldier was released to middling reviews in May of this year. Could Ubi be prepping a sequel to appear on as-yet-unannounced next-gen consoles, given the Kiev studio’s purported expertise working with DirectX 11 (reportedly a big push from Microsoft on next-gen Xbox development)?
For my money, Ghost Recon should get back to its roots and offer real tactical gameplay instead of being yet another me-too modern warfare action shooter. Offer some honest-to-goodness squad tactics and tough real-world situations to try and defuse with elite Special Forces soldiers and I’m on board.
It could happen, right? Right?
Email the author Adam Biessener, or follow on Twitter, and Game Informer.
It needs better servers and a few more multiplayer unlocks. Make the campaign a bit more stealthy. I like the mix between action and stealth, but there was to much action in the last one. Also wonder how amazing the particle effects will look this time.
Are they congratulating themselves on the multiplayer? The multiplayer?!
The lagginess and the sub-standard matchmaking has been there since the beta!
The multiplayer was fun as hell when I got on. The game, however, felt a lot more like a mainstream shooter than tactical. I wish in a sequel that are more command options for your squad, and bring back the Cross-Com feature from Advanced Warfighter. It seemed like the only tactical thing in this game was just that Mark-and-Execute style feature, which is great, but should stay in Splinter Cell.
Ghost recon franchise, returning to its roots?Hmm,that'll make me one happy person but personally i don't think it'll ever happen unless the market for those type of games go mainstream
Which will provably be NEVER
Knew there would be a new game.
I just wonder if the sequel will go through as many delays as the first one did.
I really enjoyed the first one. Campaign was really good, even though it was a little more shooty shooty than Stealth for a Spec Ops team. Multiplayer was really fun, but could use a little more diversity. I did enjoy killing COD players when they tried doing the same tactics they use in COD. I am looking forward to a sequel.
I thought Future Solider was ok. I think a second one could be really good. It need to be more like Advanced Warfighter.
I hope this one is better then the first.
Yes I agree with everything in that last paragraph. They need to get back to basics.
Please release a second one. Future Soldier was probably my most favorite game of 2012
Everyone at UBisoft needs to see what made the original games in all their series good again. The only decent next gen TC game was Conviction. The rest were trash compared to previous titles. Black Arrow and Island Thunder are better then every other game in those series.
I really hope so
The next one should have good controls!
Wouldn't mind another game. Future Soldier was good in my opinion.
