Final Fantasy IV iOS Trailer Teases FFV, More

Final Fantasy IV drops today on iOS for $15.99, but its trailer teases some more classic entries making the jump to mobile.

At the end of the trailer below, it proclaims, “The Final Fantasy mobile revolution begins…” and after that the logo for Final Fantasy V appears, but below it the text reads, “and more…”

As of now, the only confirmed title from the trailer is Final Fantasy V, but if they’re really starting a “mobile revolution,” can you imagine the possibilities? Final Fantasy VI is a title fans have been itching for a re-release of, perhaps iOS will give fans that venue

  • That is a ridiculous amount to pay for an ios game, let alone one that old. Look at GTA Vice City, fully voiced in a huge open world, for 7 dollars.
  • Ive always wanted to Play FFVI. Heard it's the best one, lets hope this is true. (or i could get it on PSN i guess)
  • ..................
  • why no android? or windows? i see how it is square enix!
  • What else can be said about a company that re-releases installments from their flagship franchise, rather than develop new or expand upon existing IP, in a pretty obvious effort to keep themselves afloat, as well as relive moments of their glory days? Nothing. Nothing at all.
  • The fact that Square is doing all this on iOS really pisses me off (especially if they remake VI for the first time on that POS!)! Most of the loyal fans that have supported the FF games to this point, play games on consoles and handhelds. Only a fraction of them have an apple mobile device at all. Why would they turn their backs on those of us that made these game what they are like this?!

I hate apple and its products and this makes it even more difficult to continue to support Square when those are the fans they are catering to these days. Put these things on Vita and 3DS so us real gamers can enjoy and support these games too!
  • I would pay for classic and these new editions of these games for the Xbox. Put both versions of a game on a disc for $40? I'd pay that for IV and VI. Curious why Square has seemed reluctant to release the older Final Fantasy games for the 360.

  • FFVI is the best. Nothing beats playing it on my SNES! :)
  • I really hope they go and do VI. I wonder if they plan on giving future ones a graphical overhaul like III and IV.

  • Nice.

  • $15.99 is still pretty iffy for me. I definitely want FFIV, but I don't know if it's a good idea to pay that much for a game that others get for like 10 dollars less.

  • FFV and FFVI remakes in 3d would be awesome, even if they were just for mobile-devices; I would just hope that they try to pick a more serious art style or graphic modeling for them. I just couldn't take the characters in the DS version seriously.

  • hell NO. Square, you guys better remake V and VI for 3DS too. those were Super Nintendo games, they belong on a Nintendo platform. I don't care if they go onto iOS too, but also release them on 3DS.
  • This looks great! Amazing memories with FFIV!

  • ... I hate this. I was hoping they'd jump from DS to 3DS doing Remakes...

  • I hope SE would make a 3DS version of this. (and the upcoming FFV)

  • Well Cecil I was under the impression I purchased a rather complete version of your adventure for my playstation portable.

  • I thought it was going to be the SNES version. Darn.

  • Would somebody please get a note to Square and tell them I've been waiting for a similar remake of VI for YEARS now??

I've got IV on my DS, and can confirm its greatness.
