Gamer Couple Create A Video Game "Save The Date" For Their Wedding

Katie Martin and Barry Abrams are like many other couples. They met, fell in love, got a dog, bought a house, and now they are getting married. However, this gamer couple went the extra mile to create an original side-scrolling video game to let their friends know about their upcoming nuptials.

The game, entitled "Save the Date: Katie & Barry are getting married", is a cute and fun little side-scroller that you can play here. Playing as Katie or Barry, you must save your better half from an evil robot, while platforming through three wedding-themed levels and a boss fight. In the cutscenes, you even learn a little bit about some of the experiences that helped bond them together -- including waiting together for four hours to buy a Wii. Fer cute. We wish them many years of happiness.

  • That's pretty awesome.

  • Aww that's so cute!

  • There are no words for how cool this is. Freakin cute and fun. I'd love to have something like this for me one day...

  • That's awesome! They are very lucky to have each other. Oh, and the evil robot in the picture reminds me of the monster from the old school SkiFree game.
  • You know you have a good wedding when Abraham Lincoln shows up. (Far right side)
  • And that just set the new gold standard for "informative wedding announcements". Extremely awesome and fun idea!

  • What a great idea! Also, what is with "fer cute"?

  • I'm good at platformers but awful at that game.

  • Awesome they used my news tip!

  • In other news, the stresses of game development have driven the couple to an early divorce.

  • thats cute. anyways. "fer cute" means what?

  • D'awwwww  :,)  (>^_^<)  <3  #katie&barry4dayzkawaiidesu

  • I want cake. Hope they have some happy years indeed.

  • This is insanely cool. Each level tells a part of the story of their relationship, and they're guided through it by their dog. If you collect all the hearts in each level you get a secret level that is based on something that happened to them. Really neat, original, and personal idea. Good luck to them.
  • Is that awesome or what?

  • awesome

  • I'm going to have to take on this idea as well eventually...

  • Didn't unlock the super secret level but it was pretty cool.  Jumping was a tad floaty, but overall pretty impressive!
