Update: Scott Pilgrim Creator Says DLC Not Canceled

by Mike Mahardy on Dec 19, 2012 at 10:30 AM

Update: Good news for fans of 2010's beat 'em up hit, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game. Bryan O'Malley, the creator of the Scott Pilgrim, is stating that the upcoming DLC has not been canceled.

O'Malley reached out to fans on Twitter with the following message:

"There’s a rumor going around that the Scott Pilgrim video game DLC from Ubisoft has been cancelled. Status: FALSE."

We're still waiting for a response from Ubisoft regarding its plans for the DLC, but it appears fans of the game can now breathe a sigh of relief.

Original Story: Fans of the beat 'em up Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game were understandably excited when Ubisoft announced the game would be receiving DLC support in 2012. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll ever get it.

The DLC was slated to add online multiplayer and the new fan-favorite character Wallace to the game. According to Hardcore Gamer, Ubisoft customer support agents have been responding to inquiries from fans by telling them that the DLC has been canceled due to a lack of interest.

The game has been out for over two years now, but its dedicated following, as well as the initial promise of 2012 DLC, makes the cancellation even more of a disappointment.
It looks like we'll have to stick to the classic cast of characters and be resigned to couch co-op forever.

We have reached out to Ubisoft and will update the story if we hear anything back.
