Godus Hits Kickstarter Goal, Multiplayer Prototype Revealed

With just 43 hours to go, Peter Molyneux's proposed god game has surpassed its Kickstarter goal. The famed designer walks viewers through a multiplayer prototype of Godus in a new video.

22 Cans has reached its £450,000 goal, and is now setting its sights on a variety of stretch goals. The first stretch goal, set at £460,000 promises to add three extra single-player and multiplayer modes, and looks easily attainable, considering the Kickstarter now sits at £456,156. 22 Cans also posted a new video of the Godus prototype, which shows Molyneux trying out and screaming through a multiplayer test. It's pretty amusing:

  • Interesting. Looks like it would be fun. Be funny watching gameinformer to a test chamber on this

  • It kinda looks like a new take on minecraft. This whole topography editor thing looks interesting. Still not sold. But well see. Oh and FIRST!
  • oh. seems interesting.

  • This actually looks like fun. Been wanting a proper god game for ages, I can only play Black & White so many times.lol

  • I cant watch this video without taking nothing Peter says seriously.

THIS MAN SPEWS HALF AND EMBELLISHED TRUTHS!

  • I might be interested in this if it was anyone but Peter Molyneux at the helm. That guy must have been a snake oil salesman in a previous life. Or maybe I'm just a gullible sucker in this life. Yep, second possibility is confirmed. Markus Persson likes it apparently, so maybe there's hope...?
  • High Hopes, staggering deadlines, and an unfinished mess are what to expect with recent Peter Molyneux games. I, however, believe that this will be better than that last fable game because "that last fable guy really messed it up!"
  • I'm so happy for this. I want this game to come out right now so bad.

  • gratz to peter .. i'm suprised it hit the goal kinda...then again he talks a good convicing talk

  • I don't know if anyone remembers it, but the elevating land feature reminds me a lot of my favorite god game, Populous. I hope this game is something like that.

  • 43 hours left when it made the Kickstarter goal? Can't say I'm surprised, although I am glad for his success with it none-the-less. Probably would've hit that goal a lot sooner if he had delivered more on all the of the other games he hyped up from before.
  • so glad this made its goal. Cool looking art style.

  • I can't believe this many people are willing to fall for Peter's horsesh*t AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. Have they all learned NOTHING about this man and his delusions of grandeur???

  • Oh.Well thats pretty good, was looking foward to this.

  • Nice vid...

  • Cool!
