Capcom Celebrates Mega Man's 25th Birthday With New Release And Annoucements

by Matt Helgeson on Dec 17, 2012 at 11:24 AM

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the release of the original Mega Man. Can you believe it's been that long? Capcom marked the milestone with the release of the Street Fighter X Mega Man, which is a free PC game that was created by a fan with support and approval from Capcom. Street Fighter X Mega Man, as you might expect, is an 8-bit style game that uses iconic characters from both franchise (to get a better idea of what to expect, watch the video below).

Also, the company announced that it will be releasing the six original NES Mega Man games to the Nintendo 3DS eShop. The original Mega Man will release on December 27, with Mega Man 2 to follow on February 7.

So, happy birthday to Capcom's blue bomber. It's been a fun ride. What are some of your favorite Mega-memories?
