The lights are on
Dark Souls II director Tomohiro Shibuya upset some Dark Souls fans by saying that the sequel will be "more understandable," but more light has been shed on that conversation. “Accessibility to players who haven’t picked up Dark Souls is definitely a key topic,” Shibuya told Edge in an upcoming cover story. “Right in the beginning when players first pick up the game is something that I will definitely focus on. To not immediately throw them into Dark Souls but provide a good introduction in terms of what the game’s about and how the game should be played."Shibuya hopes that this introduction will succeed in drawing new players in without sacrificing the challenge and mystery that fans of the first game loved. He also wants to make hidden story elements from Dark Souls more clear in the sequel, along with the covenant system, which rewards the player for aligning with certain factions.Via: Destructoid
Geeze, some of these comments are ridiculous xD
Im ok with 'accessible'....providing it maintains face melting difficulty and the 'figure it out your damn self' world exploration and boss battles of the last couple souls entries. If you make the series into some generic RPG franchise with no....soul.....in an effort to pull in people who wouldn't otherwise buy your game, then im done.
This new guy better not make dark souls into a horrible game.
Demons souls had that optional tutorial where you couldn't even die until you reached Vanguard. As long as its optional at not critical, I don't mind. More people playing this game, the better
Oh thank god
I am confident in these developers and these comments are starting to look like Mass Effect 3's all over again.
What Tomohiro Shibuya needs to understand are the people that will be buying Dark Souls 2 already know everything there is to know about the series. It will delude the uncompromising usual experience if we have to put up with material that we have already mastered.
gonna expect on that.
i want it!!!
I started up a new warrior build in Dark Souls last night. Such an awesome game...
Here's to hoping Dark Souls 2 is every bit as challenging as the first.
This is going awesome! My brother didn't want to play Dark Souls because he said he didn't understand it and that it was too hard. Maybe he will change his mind on Dark Souls 2 when I tell him this.
