Second Annual "Most Played Game Awards"

by Mike Mahardy on Dec 13, 2012 at 06:16 AM

Raptr has announced the most-played games of 2012.

The awards take into account average individual playtime, average session length, and total playtime.

Unsurprisingly, games like Skyrim, World of Warcraft, Modern Warfare 3, and League of Legends are maintaining their staying power, while Borderlands 2 takes its place in the awards as a new recipient. Loot goes a long way. What is surprising, however, is that Borderlands 2 saw 200 percent more total playtime than Diablo III did in their respective first months.

Check out the full list of awards below:

Most Played New Game – Borderlands 2
Most Played Pre-2012 Game – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Biggest Boost from User-Generated Content – Portal 2
Most Played Long-Awaited Sequel – Borderlands 2
No Bathroom Break – Borderlands 2
Most Played XBLA Game – Minecraft
Most Played New IP – Dragon’s Dogma
Most Successful Paid to Free-to-Play Game – Star Wars: The Old Republic
