The lights are on
Valve introduced the Steam Community Market today, which will expand upon the Steam service and allow players to buy and sell in-game items for Steam Wallet funds.
The Steam Community Market is currently in beta with Team Fortress 2, and will be available for other titles beginning next year. The Market is supposed to expand Steam’s economy beyond the popular trading system, which is currently seeing over 500,000 trades per week, according to Tony Paloma of Valve.
Do you have any interest in buying or selling in-game items?

Well, no big news. Long has been since many of us have made some money selling a bunch of random items in TF2.
The linux beta still has some nuisances on it. The overlay screen is burned in the game.
