Journey Composer’s Next Project Is Leisure Suit Larry Remake

by Kimberley Wallace on Dec 11, 2012 at 07:20 AM

Austin Wintory has made a name for himself composing for both thatgamecompany’s Journey and Flow. He has two VGAs and a recent Grammy nomination to show for it. Now he’s taking things in a different direction. He recently revealed he’s working on the musical score for Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of Lounge Lizards Reloaded. This remake was backed on Kickstarter in April to Larry Laffer fans' delight.

Al Lowe, the creator of the unlucky-in-love Laffer, reached out to the composer, which even surprised Wintory. As he told Polygon, “It's actually shocking that they would think to call me because they couldn't be more opposite of each other." But Wintory soon found out, Replay Games, the masterminds behind the remake, were big fans of Journey. Although this is a big change from Journey, Wintory grew up playing the games and remembers them fondly, so he’s excited to create the beats that drive Larry’s comical descent into the world of women.
