The lights are on
Even before Diablo III’s PC release, Blizzard has danced around development of a console version, but information on when, what platform, and even official confirmation has been scarce. In a recent interview with Polygon, though, the company confirmed they’re still toying with development of a console version, but aren’t ready to reveal much else about it.
The most promising revelation came from Blizzard executive Rob Pardo, who told the site, “We've got builds up and running on it. We're hoping to get it far enough along where we can make it an official project, but we're not quite ready to release stuff about it, but it's looking pretty cool."
It looks like a step in the right direction to make the console dream a reality, but Diablo III lead designer Jay Wilson also confirmed that the company is still, “exploring console options,” which as we thrust forth to a new generation, could be an obstacle.
Wilson also told Polygon that his team is working on the, “next big Diablo thing,” saying, “A lot of that stuff will show up next year at some point." Time will tell exactly what’s to come, but it does sound promising.

Seeing as how the control scheme for diablo3 fits perfectly into control use, I don't see why this comes as a surprise to anyone. I'm pretty sure they created Diablo 3 with the mindset that they were going to port it to console, which is a shame... Because the game suffered for it severely.
Whenever I see something with/from Polygon I think of Phil
It's cool take your time do not jump the gun on this
I would be down for a console version.
At this point i don't even want to play it on console.
I dunno. well, goodluck.
I would love to get Diablo III on consoles, especially if I could play with people who are on PC/Mac, since my computer can't run the game.
How about they focus on the PC version and fix that POS first. Such an epic let down
