Wii U Owners Want Dark Souls II

A petition sent to Namco Bandai following the announcement of Dark Souls II is demanding that the game comes to the Wii U.  As of this writing, the petition has reached 5,606 signatures.

The petition on Change.org cites the potential inventory management options of the Wii U Gamepad as the perfect starting point for a Wii U version of the game.

Nintendo's promise of third party support has been looking up in the wake of titles like Assassin's Creed III, Batman: Arkham City, and Darksiders II, so the possibility of more doesn't seem too far out of question. The petition needs 100,000 total signatures to make a dent.

  • Good for them. Though maybe they should wait till we actually have some information on the game. Unless I am missing something they have not released information on platforms yet, so maybe it is already destined for the Wii U.
  • I agree. There's no good reason why Wii U owners shouldn't be able to play this game.
  • There was a similar story for the PC version, remember? I can see this happening, it would actually be pretty fun. One thing, though, I don't really like the fact that they are making it more "accessible"...
  • I am so sick of people using Change.org for video game petitions. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for video game petitions, and I would love to see Dark Souls 2 on Wii U. But using Change.org for something as trivial as a video game is just a misuse of a really great organization.
  • What we really need is decent PC support. I shouldn't have to settle for 10-20 fps on a brand new rig
  • I'm still going to buy this game on PS3, as that's what I played the previous two games on, but everyone needs to play Dark Souls, so I signed.
  • TOO BAD. jk if it can run it, it should be available. and being a next gen console it better be able to run it

  • and people in hell want ice water.
  • Dark Souls 2 would be a great addition to 3rd party support for the Wii U.
  • KEEP YOUR TOUCHSCREEN CASUAL CRAP OUT OF MY DARK SOULS!
  • If you could manage inventory on your touchscreen separately then it would make the game slightly easier. This sounds like a one way ticket to hand-holding.

  • Lets make a petition for higher resolutions on pc
  • Haha I'm sure it wasn't only me, but I submitted this news tip WAY earlier. Oh well though I'm just glad that they posted it as I really want this game to reach a wider audience. The PC port of Dark Souls just didn't do this game justice.

  • What a bunch of butthurt fanboys. If you got a Wii U you probably have other systems laying around too (especially if you're petitioning for a game made for hardcore gamers), why not play it on that? I bet the first Dark Souls played fine on it.

With that being said the Wii U should be included as one of the systems multi-platform games are made for. But it is expected that the Wii U will lose some games in its early life.

  • Wii U should have this. In fact third party support should be the greatest right now while the Wii U is able to run current gen stuff. After the new Sony and Microsoft systems come out it 'MAY' not be able to keep up. So I am all for giving the Wii U as many games as it can have while while it is possible (without needing to dumb it down). Still wish Bayonetta 2 was not exclusive to it though....
  • Demanding, huh? Sounds a little extreme, but it'd be good for players all around if it was multi-platform. Well see what From decides to do, considering that with Dark Souls they made the jump from PS3 to 360 as well.
  • At the end of the day it's up to the developer what they want to do with their games, personally I think that's just something people should respect.

By this I mean not putting any unnecessary pressure onto a company to work with a console they don't want to in the first place. (And if they do want to, they'll get round to it when they're ready)
