Namco Bandai's beloved Dark Souls series is getting a sequel. Dark Souls II debuted tonight as a CG trailer during Spike's Video Game Award show.

The footage shows armored knights working through hostile terrain, and taking on an army wearing masks similar to those worn by the Court of Owls in New 52's Batman. We also see a dragon skeleton that looks to be the size of Godzilla. I really hope we get to fight one of those!

I saw an eye-view like that shown of Dragonborn in Skyrim, but the further I got in it, I knew it was Dark Souls 2. There was one view that made me know that it was Dark Souls Sequel automatically.

I am officially very happy person. Cannot wait for this to come out. Loved the first one. Definately one of my favorite games. That and Demon Souls of course.

I'm so extremely happy. Dark Souls was my favorite game of 2011. I LOVED the challenge and how addicting it was. Defiantly most excited about this!!!!

Wonder if this will flesh out some of the lore from the first Dark Souls or if it's going to take place in an entirely new area/universe. Either way I'm super excited to play more of this fantastic series :)
