The lights are on
Wreck-it Ralph did well in the box-office and continues to thrive. It hasn't been officially greenlit by Disney, but the film's director, Rich Moore, is confident about a sequel.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Moore said that he and John C. Reilly, the actor who plays Ralph, are already discussing where the story should go next. Moore also said that getting Nintendo's Mario in the sequel is a high priority, and he wants him to more than just a background easter egg like many of the video game characters featured in the first film.

I would like to se a sequel if it still can retain its quality. I don't want a sequel if it is going to be just another cash draw.
Bring Wreck It Ralph home! Mario's fame is largely on consoles now, and consoles themselves have threatened the arcade business. So can the threat be from the console world? As Gaming Warthog says, I'd love to see how console games work with the arcade universe of the movie. Surge protectors are universal to all machines right? ;>
I suppose one or two conversations with the plumber in the sequel would be awesome, but given too much focus it should be just labeled as a Mario movie, and that would put me off greatly.
No more than a conversation or two. Anything bigger than a minor easter egg and we'll get another Mario movie, and we all know how that turned out.
All I ask is that you call it "Super Wreck-It Ralph." Is that too much to ask? I suppose if they made XBLA versions of some of the games the showed (not a full console release, thats just asking for trouble), because after watching it, I really wanted to be able to play a co op game where maybe 4 gritty Hero's Duty soldiers hunted down the last of the psibugs in Sugar Rush. That juxtaposition just seems like it would be so much fun.
Let's hope that, if Mario is included, his dialogue isn't limited to the "Ya! Wah! Wohoo!" we're all likely sick of hearing in his games. Adding some depth to the character would be nice.
I can't wait to see the first movie! I heard it was pretty good so it makes sense to do a sequal!
