The lights are on
Wreck-it Ralph did well in the box-office and continues to thrive. It hasn't been officially greenlit by Disney, but the film's director, Rich Moore, is confident about a sequel.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Moore said that he and John C. Reilly, the actor who plays Ralph, are already discussing where the story should go next. Moore also said that getting Nintendo's Mario in the sequel is a high priority, and he wants him to more than just a background easter egg like many of the video game characters featured in the first film.

That's awesome! I was just thinking about a sequel to this earlier today. I think this is the fastest I've ever wanted a sequel to anything. The characters, and, heck, the sheer idea of the first movie was just so brilliant that it begs for a sequel.
I greatly approve of making a sequel, but I'm nervous about having Mario as a main character. I know he's like the backbone of video games, but one of the things I loved the most about the first one, is that the main characters aren't major video game characters. Having Sonic and Kano as 'background' easter egg characters is really awesome, but I don't want it to become a Mario movie. Keep the focus on Ralph and his crew.
I agree with some of the guys here-let's keep the focus on Ralph.
So, now he's sorta running the same old thing over and over again, and he's happy. What can the writers do to make it different? To disturb the peace that he has earned?
I'm tempted to say "crisis that affects all games", but I almost feel like that's a little over-done. It would be cool if it was connected to the Toy Story universe somehow (mix in Pixar for the sequel, please?).
Loved the first one, but I'm always skeptical about sequels. Pixar does have an excellent track record with them, however...
Such a great movie. I don't know how they would handle a sequel, but if it's half as good as the original, then it'll still be amazing.
YES! Love this movie.
Wreck-It-Ralph was en excellent movie with a smart script and countless nods to gaming. I laughed for the most part, but the way Ralph is treated made me mad and what he did to Vanellope made me tear up. Not often a movie can do that for me, so I would happily welcome a sequel.
Wreck-It Ralph was really great! A sequel would be welcome.
I think it should be about the rise of Console home gaming, so no one goes to arcades anymore, so Ralph tries to make Arcades popular again.
Would look forward to one. Really, Wreck-it-Ralph has the high potential for a great franchise in itself. It beat any other video-game movie.
I watched this movie and LOVED IT! If they make a sequel a good plot could be about arcades becoming irelevent.
so long as the quality remains.
Im gonna wreck it. and that and that and that to. But I just hope it can do better than the first cause it was amazing
A sequel would be nice,I watched it for the first time last night. And I'm not into these kind of animation films, but the director and all the voice actors nailed it.I highly recommend it to anyone who loves video games.
