James Bond Developer Closing

by Jim Reilly on Dec 07, 2012 at 08:37 AM

Eurocom, the developer behind the recent James Bond title 007 Legends, has let go the remaining of its staff this morning. Last month, the developer cut about 150 jobs and today cut the remaining 50.

"Since 2008, there has been a steep decline in the sales of Console and PC games, which has led to a severe contraction in the number of new games being commissioned from global publishers of entertainment software," the studio said in a statement to Eurogamer.

"The company has also faced intense competition from developers in countries with lower costs or those subsidized with generous games tax credits."

Eurocom first opened in October 1988. The developer last shipped Harry Potter for Kinect, 007 Legends, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, and GoldenEye 007 for Wii.
