The Drowning Announced For iOS

by Matt Miller on Dec 06, 2012 at 09:02 AM

A new first-person horror game is looking to innovate and provide a high-end gaming experience on mobile devices.

The team at Scattered Entertainment is crafting The Drowning specifically to play using a control scheme built for use on touch devices, and provide a play experience tailored to more hardcore players. The game is set to release on iOS in early 2013. The Drowning will also release free-to-play. Notably, the early screenshots for the game look comparable to many current gen console shooters in quality. Scattered Entertainment is led by Ben Cousins, a veteran producer from the Battlefield franchise.

In the game, players control a survivor in a post-apocalyptic world where oil spills have turned the population into mindless zombie-like creatures. The game promises a focus on crafting and upgrading weapons as you fight to stay alive in the midst of the disaster.
