The lights are on
Ruffian Games, the developer behind Crackdown 2, was working on a new downloadable Streets of Rage game, but it was canceled. Some footage from the game has snuck its way online though, giving all of us a chance to look at what may have been.

Hopefully this doesn't start more Battlefront style drama. Although it does look pretty badass.
Looks very generic. Graphics looked good, but didn't give off a feeling that it's a Streets of Rage game.
I would love to see Streets of Rage remade, I still play the original on the xbox genesis collection.
I would love for Sega to make a 2D remake of this game and stick close to the art style it had originally. Oh, and IT MUST HAVE AMAZING MUSIC!
I loved Streets of rage for my Genesis. I don't know if I would have bought this, though.
The game looked amazing but the gameplay looked repetitive and boring. I wonder if it was just the way it looked or if it would feel any different if I had the controller in my hands.
Looks pretty solid for a start to me, you don't actually see enough of it to be able to tell if the gameplay is repetitive or not. Doesn't look so much like a remake as a series revival so I would expect it to look different in terms of style. I was a big fan of beat em ups in the 80s/90s and would love to see more brought back and updated to include the depth we now expect from modern combat engines the way the new Double Dragon was handled. Hopefully this will get back off the ground and into our hands (and be worth the wait). And since remakes are in right now...River City Ransom anyone? Could've sworn I heard something about that and I don't think Technos is busy...
Its a shame it got cancelled.
what is it with streets of rage, and the games getting cancelled or removed?
looks like a lot of fun
That sucks! Used to love playin' those games back in the 90's. Sega Genesis FTW.
looks really fun.
