Call of Duty: Black Ops II Racks Up $1 Billion In Sales

Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops II has earned a $1 billion in revenue worldwide in just 15 days on sale.

The company says it got the figure from U.K. Chart-Track sales data as well as internal estimates, and that it breaks the movie box office record set by Avatar, which hit a billion in 17 days. Activision also notes that more than 150 million hours of Black Ops II have been played since release on PSN and Xbox Live.

It may not all be champagne corks, however. Industry analysts say that sales for the last two games overall are actually trending down.

Awesome, this is my probably my second favorite Call of Duty after the first Black Ops. Can't wait for finals to be over so I can start playing this and Halo 4 again.

I just couldnt get into this game no matter how hard I tried. I guess its because it is more like MW3 then Black Ops 1.

I've heard nothing but good things about the campaign so far. And now that the game is on equal footing on three platforms, I wonder how having the ability to play on the Wii U's gamepad will effect the sales of future CoD titles between the three consoles.

People can't get job or food but a game can make $1 billion in sales. Goes to show taking your mind off the pain can make some very rich.

Just wait until GTA V comes out,that game is going to be the best selling title ever.I grew up in the GTA generation and San Andreas is still one of my favorite games of all time if Rockstar does it right GTA V will be the best title of this generation.(besides MGS:Ground Zeroes of course)

I've been considering getting this game sometime. I haven't picked up a COD game in a long, long time but this looks really good. That screenshot is detailed as heck. That, and the article on COD that Dan did a month or two back was really good too.
