The lights are on
Update: Free Radical co-founder Steve Ellis has hit back at the anonymous LucasArts source who claimed that Free Radical had a generous hand in the demise of Star Wars: Battlefront III.
GameSpot has updated its original story with a lengthy rebuttal by Ellis.
Original Story: Last week Free Radical co-founder Steve Ellis said Star Wars: Battlefront III was "99 percent finished." Since then, a former LucasArts employee who did not disclose his identity said there's two sides to every story.
"This 99 percent complete stuff is just bullsh*t," the ex-employee told GameSpot. "A generous estimate would be 75 percent of a mediocre game."
The report also details some of the issues Free Radical had developing the game. This person claims the developer took resources away from the first half of Battlefront III's development to finish Haze, which released in 2008 to below average reviews. The source also said Free Radical was unable to make certain deadlines.

Now I feel better.
I can remember playing the heck out of 1 & 2 with my whole family. What a shame we won't see a third :(
Whether 99% or not I still would want them to finish so i could play it
That would make more sense.
*close eyes, nods head*
From the videos I've seen, I would certainly say that it didn't quite look 99% finished. I'd agree that it looked more like 75%, but it hardly looked like it was going to be mediocre. C'mon Disney, settle this once and for all by finally making us a brand new kick-ass Battlefront 3! It's the only announcement that I want this holiday season. . . that, and Harrison Ford getting to be in Episode 7. Really, a good Battlefront 3 would pretty much save Lucas Arts from extinction.
Sounds much more likely.
I'd advise everyone to head onto gamespot for the whole article. The cofounder of Free Radical had a follow-up response that is definitely read-worthy. Maybe GI will update this article later regarding his reply. But before that, head to the article link!
this makes a lot more sense.
Why dont we just stop arguing about the whole debocile and someone pease oh please just make a new Battlefront game. Get a head start for an opening title on the next Gen consols!
