The lights are on
Valve said today Big Picture mode is now available to the public. It was in beta mode since this summer. Big Picture allows players to access Steam games on a television and includes additional controller support. To celebrate, Valve says it's making over thirty controller-friendly games on sale from now until December 10 though Steam.
Check out our video walkthrough of the Big Picture mode below.
I don't much care for it to be honest. The resolution seemed off, and about 70% of the times my games wouldn't work with it on. I do love me some Steam though. There's nothing better than those darn Summer Deals...I mean I got Deus Ex- Human Revolution, Saints Row 3, Amnesia Dark Descent, And Dead Space 2 for like $20 total, it was crazy.
In the big picture, this is huge.
well now we wait to see if they have hardware they are making as well.
well, atleast theres a sale today. :D
Aesthetically, I really like it. It reminds me of a cleaner Windows Media Center (which I thought was not that bad).
It's actually easy to navigate and when checking your game library, there's a drop-down with all those that are controller compatible. I like the direction it's going in, though I have absolutely no qualms over the current interface. It's awesome that's it's just a Mode and not a complete overhaul.
That's cool. Too bad I'm not a huge PC gamer.
Aww nice, I'll need to try this out when I get the chance seems like a cool way to play my indie games.
I asked for a Steam gift card for Christmas..
