Walking Dead Retail Out December 11

The retail edition of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead: The Game was originally scheduled to arrive tomorrow at Gamestop. The game was pushed back an additional week and is coming December 11.

Telltale is planning two sets: A standard $29.99 collection, and a $69.99 collector's edition that comes packaged with The Walking Dead: Compendium One, a hefty book that collects the first 48-issues of the comic series. "Episodes on the discs will also be fully compatible with previous episodes that players may have already downloaded from Xbox Liveor PlayStation Network, allowing players to continue from where they may have left off on the download version," Telltale says.

The collector's edition is only available to people who pre-order. Both versions are available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Comments
  • I can't decide which version I want, the standard or the collector's edition?
  • *Sigh* I have it digitally, but physical > digital.
  • Is this coming to Europe aswell?
  • Oh so tempting, but I already paid for the downloadable games. I don't want to have to spend another $70 on this game (because I would def be getting the collectors).
  • I should ask for this game for Christmas...
  • If that is all that's in the collector's edition, you could save money by just getting the regular edition and purchasing the Compendium through Amazon for $33.99 with free shipping. Although it does look like it has different cover art if that is a deciding factor for anyone.
  • Wait, 48 issues? I swear I read when it was first announced it was 70 or so. Gah, I can't remember anything anymore.
  • I already got this game... But damn that Collector's edition is looking so good.

  • I will have to pass. Not my type of game.
  • ah~ i wish they released that early...

  • That ending was so damn sad.
  • you gotta jump, shake, shimmy them out.

  • Aw shucks, guess I'm only getting Far Cry 3 at midnight.
  • $29.99 is a wonderful price for this. I haven't played any of the downloadable episodes, but had interest after watching my roommate play it for a couple minutes. I don't think I could justify paying the full $59.99 for a game like this. They now have a new potential buyer.

  • This is one of those rare occasions when a pre order bonus is something you will actually use/enjoy
  • Mod

Pre-ordered my CE last month and will likely get this by Christmas. Can't wait to play this.

  • I wonder how heavy a contender for goty this will be?
  • :D Why are there so many games I want and I only have so little money?
  • Considering Telltale couldn't be assed to make the downloads available in Australia (and through New Zealand in with us) this is good news.
