The fifth episode of Halo 4's Spartan Ops, Memento Mori, is out this Monday, December 3. It introduces an all-new CG cinematic and five new gameplay chapters.

Synopsis: Secrets are revealed, trusts betrayed, and the Sangheili leader Jul ‘Mdama’s ultimate plan nears success. As Infinity’s command crew makes a discovery that changes everything we thought we knew about the Forerunner Prometheans, the Spartans must attempt to rescue one of their own.

Spartan Ops episodes are free for Xbox Live gold members.

I can't wait to play the same levels as the last 4 weeks! New twist: this time, they're upside down.

Does anyone know if they are going to allow non-live members to play these missions? Like...ever?

Also, once they have all five missions out, are we just stuck with the last five no matter how good/lame they are? I wish they would put all the episodes back into a public playlist.

Cool. More of the exact same stages...again. I'm def going to wait to see if Season 2 will just be more of the same crap before I spend anything on it.

Spartan Ops has been a major disappointment to say the least.

"I" found "myself" playing Spartan Ops far more than "I" ever played firefight for the following reasons:

1) Because they actually try to tell a story.
2) That story actually doesn't seem half @ssed.
3) You actually get a reasonable amount of xp for the amount of time you play each chapter.

Hmm, there's probably more reasons but that's it off the top of "my" head(s).

Not as fun as firefight. Not sure why one had to replace the other, should of just had both Spec Ops (oops, I mean, "Spartan Ops") and firefight.

I have already played all the levels forward and backward.. it won't make sense to go back to rescue spartans when I know I JUST cleared that spot of all enemies--four-times!

343 is taking this franchise in such an amazing direction...I love these weekly episodic content drops! I look forward to a red vs blue easter egg also lol. I would like to see them in an actual cutscene like church meets the infinity AI as the Alpha.
