The lights are on
Leaked details about Bungie's first post-Halo release have been circulating over the past few days, but the studio has been planting seeds about the game for several years. An eagle-eyed Halo 3: ODST player noticed what looked like a reference to the upcoming game, and it was confirmed by a member of that game's development team.
Twitter user Ryan Butler sent Vic Deleon a link to the above image, asking the environmental artist why exactly Destiny's planet and close-orbiting moon image was featured in an in-game sign.
Deleon responded with the tweet below.
There you have it. Perhaps this will inspire people to stop and read the signage more often. You never know what you may find.

Well, I never.
clever gooses, who knew good looking scenery actually meant something.
cool cool
That hint was pointed out almost a year ago on the bungie.net forums.
This is actually very old, but cool tidbit from Bungie nonetheless
Son of a....
so they were doing this before they left microsoft?
oh that explains why halo reach was so bad!
That was the only Halo game I didn't get.
Gimme
you know i remember that sign. I thought it looked out of place when i played through odst.
Most people knew it meant something back then and soon after the leaks of the game came out with the same name, it was obvious that was Bungie's next big thing. If I'm correct, most of Bungie started working on it after Halo 3 was finished.
I remember that sign! I had no clue at all what it was about so I had completely forgotten about it.
So, was it really leaked if it has been in plain public sight for 3 years?
So if the sign is a reference to Destiny... who or what is Asklon?
I caught this at the time, but thought nothing of it...
Wonderful.
