The lights are on
If you still haven't committed to an Xbox Live Gold subscription, but you're intching to play Halo 4 or some other online multiplayer this wekend then this weekend is just for you. From Thursday, November 29 through Sunday, December 2, Microsoft is unlocking Xbox LIVE Gold. That's now!
According to Major Nelson, Xbox Live Gold will be free in the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States. It seems that Europe is out of luck, but the rest of us will be able to enjoy online gaming, Internet Explorer, Video Kinect, and Microsoft's catalog of entertainment apps, such as Netflix and Last.FM. Pretty good deal. Go get at it.

Sweet.
Someone at Microsoft must had a mental fit.
I wish they would do this more often because I refuse to pay to just play online.
Wow. If only I was a member.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I don't get free Live in South Africa D:
Well i guess I could get on the old xbox this weekend
thats sick :D
This doesn't apply to me, since I've already got Gold, but Microsoft has gotten on my good side lately. Their support over Xbox, the push (albeit small) for loyalty rewards, Windows Phone 8, and Windows 8 are all very nice.
Free XBLA you say? Hello hackers!
