The lights are on
It's routine for companies to gauge interest in something regardless of whether it ultimately ends up coming to pass. Surveys, focus groups, and trademarks are just a few of the methods used by publishers and developers to kick the tires on ideas. As it has done in the past, Ubisoft has commissioned a survey that inquires about another Assassin's Creed in 2013, co-op play, and much more.
The Gaming Liberty has uncovered the GMI survey that asks a range of questions from participants' thoughts on Assassin's Creed 3 and its DLC, to more future-orientated questions like whether they want co-op in the series. This includes everything from splitscreen offline co-op to undertaking assassination or story-based missions with a friend.
Elsewhere the survey also asks about participants' thoughts on matters like player customization, PvP multiplayer, a new present-day hero other than Desmond, playing another game with Connor, playing as a Templar, playing as a new assassin in a new time period, and more.
The survey also asked how likely participants' would be to purchase a new Assassin's Creed game in 2013.
In the past, Ubisoft has used surveys to gauged interest in features like co-op, and given Ubisoft's history with the franchise, we frankly expect a new game in the series to come out in 2013. We'll have to see what makes the cut.

Unless AC4 goes back to a lot of the features found in the Ezio trilogy AC3 will be my last trip into that world. It was a good game, but there are so many things that got left out that I really enjoyed it really hurt the game for me.
I would buy another AC in a heartbeat. I feel that each entry has only gotten better and AC 3 was IMO Ubi's masterwork. Whatever new direction they take I'll be ready for it.
I really hope they don't keep to the once a year cycle. It's just to much. And please don't do Connor again...?
They need to stop for at least a year. It's getting old
i have to say i want more Sea Battles!.. i love AC 3.. and i want more.. if they really take the series through historic timelines its even better, think of how kids will be interested in learning the boring stuff while playing through it!. awesome.. so like it or not it's coming..
how many played AC3.. thinking ya know what would an assassin do during WW1 or ww2.. im certain Ubisoft is already considering Germany/Nazi era (nazi-templars?).. then on the flip side take the game really into the near future to see the future assassins.. i love this series keep em coming.
I love the run assassinations!
"we frankly expect a new game in the series to come out in 2013"
I'm pretty sure Ubisoft claimed it would not continue it's yearly releases. Assassins Creed 4 probably won't come earlier than 2014
I'm already burned out on AC and the only one I have played is AC3. I tend to think this series is a little overhyped as I have pretty much had to force myself to play through the game at times. I'm tired of seeing a new game in any series come out every year.
I would really like to see Connor again, I would like him fleshed out more. Cause he kinda acted like an arrogant jackass sometimes, then at other times he was all humbled and honored.
Hmm... I just hope they don't try a prequel of sorts...
Well I think a new assassins creed game would be interesting from an eastern civilizations view (a place like ancient china or japan) because it hasn't been explored in the assassins creed franchise, which consists mainly of european nations or in ACIII's case america so something eastern would be cool
co-op (via internet/local) and new story line, assassin, weapon, and...of course attack moves.
Samurai Assassin plz.
that sound interesting
By the time I make it through Assassins Creed 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, and 3 this next game will be $7.99 in a black Friday...
I really thought Connor's story was over...
