We're Getting A Batman: Arkham City Board Game

Warner Bros. partnered with board game creator Cryptozoic Entertainment to bring Batman: Arkham City Escape to table tops everywhere early next year.

The game is two-players, one playing as Batman while the other controls twenty villains. The game features an Arkham City game board, custom dice, and over 80 game cards and will cost you $45.00

  • I'm good with just the video game. This is great for board game lovers though. $45 seems a little steep for a board game.
  • I want it.

  • Hmm. Ill have to be the THIRD to try this game out. Looks good.
  • Sweet. Looks like I can still play Batman: Arkham City if the power goes out :P

  • $45? Maybe $25 I'm a Batman fan but i'm broke

  • Well, that seems intriguing. Please give more details and I shall confer with my cellmates- er friends...

  • Interesting...Seems like a cool idea, but I wanna know how the game works.
  • I smell EBBBBAAAAYYYYYYYY cashin!! CHA-CHING!
  • $45? No thanks.
  • There's another thing I'm adding to my "wish list" this year.
  • Do want :(

  • YES

  • Fragging sweet!

  • *** you warner brothers, no longer can I tell new people about arkham horror and when they assume its a batman game can I say there isn't a batman board game! >.<
  • Seems a little steep at $45, unless they throw in a copy of Arkham City: GOTY edition in the box.
  • That's cool but 45$ is a little high

  • I'm still crossing my fingers for "Heavy Rain - The Board Game"
  • All of you people saying $45 is too much for a board game have not played Fantasy Flight Games.

    Game of Thrones? $50.
    Arkham Horror? $50.
    Mansions of Madness? $60.
    Descent? $60.

And you get a ridiculous amount of replay value out of those games. Much, much more than you would get out of a $60 Uncharted game or similar "8-hour campaign and tacked on multiplayer" game.

Now, I don't know about this Batman game, but 1-2 players and only 80 cards doesn't seem all that complex. So maybe it is overpriced, who knows.
  • anyone else confused by the feb 2012 release date on the website? 'getting' one usually indicates in the future... ah well, to preorder hunting i go.
  • Sounds pretty neat. I kinda wish that there were more board games based off of things so that more people would become interested in the format.
