The lights are on
New Super Mario Bros. 2 players have cumulatively collected over 300 billion coins, and to celebrate Nintendo has released free DLC for the game that features classic levels from the original Super Mario Bros., and Super Mario Bros. 3. The DLC is available immediately and includes recreations of the first two levels and Bowser's castle from the original Super Mario Bros., what appears to be a sort of greatest hits collage from Super Mario Bros. 3, and more.
You can see the announcement below, as well as some video clips from the DLC, and instructions on how to download it. The DLC is free for now, but starting on February 1, it will cost $2.50.

Sweet free dlc for a great game :D
Just downloaded it!!! This is awesome!!!!
Thats great!!!
Man, what if they just completely remade all those classic games as DLC for this? That'd be amazing!
Sweet!! that's awesome!! I already got in the morning early.
Was it just me or was that video super boring and did nothing to get me excited for the DLC?
Thats awesome I've got to download it. I wish they would have added some super mario bros 2 though. Thats one I haven't been able to play much.
Frig, and I just traded mine in after I beat the crap out of that game and all the DLC....way to go me, that's what I get for trading in!
Free classic DLC, sounds fun!
I'll be getting this for Christmas, so this is a pleasant surprise.
Mario!!! *jumps in the air and high fives*!
Nostalgia anyone? Seriously though, it will be cool to play through some of my favorite NES levels again.
nice!
Free?. . . Thanks Nintendo!
