The lights are on
Dishonored sold pretty well in the U.S. during its debut month. It seems like we'll see another game sometime in the future as Bethesda says, "We clearly have a new franchise."
Speaking to Destructoid, Bethesda VP of PR Pete Hines said the game saw a huge boost in sales during Black Friday last week and continues to do well in other territories."I can tell you that Dishonored is far exceeding our sales expectations, which is especially cool considering it’s new IP facing a host of well-established franchises this quarter," he said.
"We did terrific numbers again this past weekend, both in stores and on Steam, where Dishonored was listed as the #1 selling title over the holiday weekend. And Dishonored has really sold well overseas.
"So, we’re very pleased and appreciate all the fans that have supported Dishonored and Arkane. We clearly have a new franchise."
Great. Awesome. Good. Perfect. Finally, a new IP does really well and shows that all gamers really want is quality, unique games that don't stray too far from the norm, but offer enough original ideas that it doesn't feel like just another shooter.
I'd LOVE a sequel to this game.
That's good news i still haven't got around to beating dishonored yet.
That would be awesome... If they can improve and address fan feedback.
Yes this game is awesome as hell
Oh, thank God.
I want to pick up Dishonored and XCOM but my backlog is ridiculous and there just aren't enough hours in the day :/
I loved this game. I played through it 5 times and got all the achievements. Really looking forward to more.
I am still neutral about this. I just hope they don't ruin things with the next game, trying to be a huge hollywood drama and failing at it miserably.
I learned that jumping on to the hype wagon early is a plan for disappointment. Curious to see where they take this franchise from here though.
I'm laughing at all the idiots that told me this game was going to be a disappointing flop.
Not surprised it was #1 over the holiday weekend. It was on sale for $30 at Gamestop.
A sequel would be awesome. Just make it easier to get both endings, and I'll be happy.
