The lights are on
Dishonored sold pretty well in the U.S. during its debut month. It seems like we'll see another game sometime in the future as Bethesda says, "We clearly have a new franchise."
Speaking to Destructoid, Bethesda VP of PR Pete Hines said the game saw a huge boost in sales during Black Friday last week and continues to do well in other territories."I can tell you that Dishonored is far exceeding our sales expectations, which is especially cool considering it’s new IP facing a host of well-established franchises this quarter," he said.
"We did terrific numbers again this past weekend, both in stores and on Steam, where Dishonored was listed as the #1 selling title over the holiday weekend. And Dishonored has really sold well overseas.
"So, we’re very pleased and appreciate all the fans that have supported Dishonored and Arkane. We clearly have a new franchise."
Nice. Dishonored is one of those fantastic watercooler moment, word-of-mouth successes that I'd love to see more of in the future.
In a surprisingly stealth-heavy season, Dishonored seems to have beaten out Assassin's Creed and Hitman as the top game in it's genre this year.
That's great. Now get to work on Fallout 4. I NEED a new Post-Apocalyptic Role Playing Game.
I'm okay with this becoming a series. It was a really fun game. While the art style is phenomenal, I think it needs to separate itself a bit. As it is, it feels and looks too much like a Bioshock spinoff.
Looking forward to playing this!!
Still havent picked this up..barely have time for gaming anymore and when i do, I'm usually on Guild Wars 2 with an occasional dash of Black ops 2/halo 4/AC3
Haven't got a chance to play it yet, but I really like the setting/art style of the game. I'll be buying it with me Christmas money though.
loved this game and hitman, my two favorites of the year... and max payne
BAd Bethesda BAD!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved Dishonored can't wait to see what Arcane does next
I'm glad this game got noticed.
Pretty cool. I would like to spent more hours in that world. Gameplay was great.
Awesome! I want to sneak around in Tyvia next. Or maybe some small part out at sea? There's so much I just want to go anywhere.
What?!?! A Bethesda game without any issues gameplay issues? Oh, wait, they just published it, not developed it. Okay, what a relief this game's developer is Arcane( Ba-doo-bss) Oops, Arkane with a K...
Congrats to them! I'm thoroughly enjoying my playthroughs of it
