The lights are on
The Wii has served its masters at Nintendo well – the console leads the current hardware generation in sales. Perhaps striving for that last sales push, there's a rumor that a newly designed Wii is coming out soon.
Nintendo World Report says it has obtained info from a major retailer that states the new Wii will come out on December 7, complete with a sensor bar, nunchuk, and Wii Remote with Wii Motion Plus and a jacket. No word on the price of this possible bundle.
If true, this would be the second redesign for the console.

Heard about this last week. One of the reasons why they would make this is for poorer countries who can't afford the Wii U.
If Nintendo does this then they're major scumbags. They've already announced that they won't be producing any more 1st party titles for the console.

Wii, Wii, Wii, all the way home!
December 7 of this year? I'm confused.........
Ridiculous. And yet somehow it'll probably end up selling well given Nintendo's history. But the Wii is already a small console, and considering Nintendo has already said they're probably done developing titles for the Wii... I feel legitimately bad for non-dedicated gamers who don't research this type of thing.
Why? they've already stated that Nintendo wasn't going to make any more games for it. And third party support consistently reveals shovel ware...
Already a few comments asking why this is happening, or saying how dumb this is. But if you remember, the PS2 continued to sell after the PS3 released, so this is nothing out of the ordinary.
Sounds dumb. Wii U has already been released. Just stick with the original Wii and let people play that. They make things smaller and then try to give consumers a bogus price for them. NO Wii Mini !
