The lights are on
The Wii has served its masters at Nintendo well – the console leads the current hardware generation in sales. Perhaps striving for that last sales push, there's a rumor that a newly designed Wii is coming out soon.
Nintendo World Report says it has obtained info from a major retailer that states the new Wii will come out on December 7, complete with a sensor bar, nunchuk, and Wii Remote with Wii Motion Plus and a jacket. No word on the price of this possible bundle.
If true, this would be the second redesign for the console.

this makes no sense for nintendo to do this. if you want to play wii games, just keep the wii you have or upgrade to the wii u. making a wii mini is a waste of time and money since virtually none of the wii games have quality multiplayer.
The Ipad mini was a bust this will probably be a bust too
Do I get a Mini Mii if I buy this? Sorry bad austin powers joke.
A Mini Wii? Sounds interesting!
what's this new fangled device yer all callin the wee?
whats next a mini playsation or a mini xbox?? On the other hand, this new version of the wii isnt half bad
That sounds like a similar set-up offered at Walmart on Black Friday(Thursday). They were selling a complete Wii but no games for around $79 or $89. Dunno if that's the same thing. That deal wouldn't be near what you can pay $129 for and get multiple games. Just target the uninformed shopper.
I hope it's cheaper!
I love Nintendo but it's not their best idea, sorry
Reminds me of the Gameboy Micro.
I understand why Nintendo would want to do that, but doesnt almost everyone already have a wii?
How much more "mini" can it realistically get?
Kinda like the redesigned top-loader NES and smaller SNES...
Not sure I really see the point to this, but then, it's not like it's unheard of. The microscopic PSone came out after the PS2 launched. Legacy consoles are not a new thing.
I'm not sure the Wii needs this, but then, these things are never made in large numbers, so it's probably just a way to clear out Wii chipsets in a relatively simple way.
