Grid 2's Achievements/Trophies To Be Designed By Fan Site

Xbox360achievments.org and its sister site ps3trophies.org have announced that it will be designing the Achievements and Trophies for Codemasters' Grid 2. The two sites are devoted to the tracking of Achievements and Trophies and how to obtain them.

Dan Webb, the two sites' editor in chief says that designing the achievements and trophies for a game has been a long-term goal for him. Webb wrote in the announcment (which you can check out here), "By far the biggest personal goal of mine was to design an Achievement and Trophy list. I don't just mean, 'make one up and draw it on some napkins,' I mean, design a list for an actual game that will be actually used."

You can head to page two if you want to read the full press releases for the announcement.

  • Nice to see that people who have no idea how the game is going to be balanced are the basis of ideas for the Achievements/Trophies for the game. They should at least get to play it FIRST! But other than that good idea.
  • OR via me when I submitted it yesterday :p

  • Ok... I guess that's one way of outsourcing labor.
  • ooooh~

  • There will be people saying "get 1000 online wins with the slowest car in the game" or something like that. Always hated achievements like that

  • That's pretty cool. Maybe it'll prevent ones like "Win 1000 ranked races" or other annoying things like that since the site is devoted to getting trophies and achievements and make some interesting ones.
  • they should do this for every triple A title

  • That should be for every triple A title.
  • This should be for every triple A title

  • I love achievements but since I'll be getting this for PC and the retail version won't be bound to Steam, I won't be able to taste these fruits. So... meh.

  • Thats pretty cool! It's nice to see more community interaction with game developers, especially on this level.

  • Creative trophies are terribly lacking. Trophies that improve the experience are almost inexistant to the profit orlazy poor designed trophies , only to draw the hunter.
  • That's pretty awesome. Might actually play this just to see how this turns out. Hope that the chosen players who decide aren't too sadistic with their requirements.

  • Interesting choice.

  • More games need to do this. I think it's spoilers and such that bar devs from doing this in most games.

  • I'm most interested in learning about the process that is behind how achievements are thought out and put into the game. I'll be keeping an eye out for their vlogs.

  • It'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

  • like this idea, more companies to need to do this...but my main question, if developers know that there are a lot of 'achievement/trophy' hunters, why not make your achievements/trophies easy for more people to buy???? i know that there are some people who hate or don't care for the achievements/trophies, but i guarantee you more people will buy your game if your achievements/trophies are easy...don't believe me? look at some profiles and i guarantee you'll see hannah montana, up, cars 2, etc...

  • That's cool that he finally gets to make some.
