3D Space Harrier On Its Way To 3DS

According to Japanese gaming site Gamer, Space Harrier is getting a stereoscopic update and making its way to 3DS. Apparently, along with the new 3D support, the gamewill also be in widescreen. There is no word on a releases date for Japan, nor is there any kind of confirmation that this will be making its way to North America.

As far as classic games getting added 3D support, Space Harrier has to be one of the best candidates.

  • Awesome! I loved Space Harrier back in the day. Just played Sonic All Star Racing Transformed today. It had a track with the Space Harrier theme remixed.
  • There isnt a more perfect gaming device to bring back Space Harrier. The 3D effects are going to be AMAZING!!

  • That'll look pretty cool, but that game could seriously use an overhaul.  It has not aged particularly well.  Framerate is not one of it's strong points.

  • Ha ha, this'll be great!

  • True Story:  The first time I played Space Harrier was in Shenmue for the Dreamcast.  It was at the arcade and it was awesome.

I'm still trying to unlock Space Harrier on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. :/  effing Super Thunder Blade....

  • haha! this will be nice!

  • Well, guess I might have the chance to try this out for the first time then.

  • Hey! I played this game on like an arcade mix on my GBA. I liked it.

  • I'd like to see a Space Harrier Collection. I'm not paying a lot of money to replay the original again, even though it's a classic. But I have never played Planet Harriers - I'm not even sure it officially came out on the Dreamcast in the West. But I'd like to see that; something I haven't played a dozen times before. Although Sin & Punishment 2: Star Successor plays a heck of a lot like a new Space Harrier. Way more than Sin & Punishment at any rate; it's actually a pretty awful sequel. Drops... pretty much everything about S&P besides the core on-rails shooting. No more running (you fly everywhere onscreen, like in Space Harrier), no more Armageddon talk, no more giant Evangelion-style mecha/monster transformation, no more time skips... it's weird. It's so different...
  • Arrrrghhhh..............................Get Ready!

  • input this URL: ( http://www.likesurprise.com/ ) you can find many cheap and high stuff Believe you will love it.
  • This will be a great game in widescreen 3D on the 3DS! I'll make sure to check it out if it ever hits the North American eShop. I've never played this game before, but i've heard good things about it.

  • Forgot about this game, but I played the hell out of it on NES.  That's when 3D made everything Blue/Red fuzzy.

  • That game looks terrible.
  • They better make it right.

  • All flash & no substance. This game was all about looks even when first released in the arcades.
  • A good 3D classic would be Star Fox on SNES. Could sell it cheap in the eShop, which I'm assuming is what's happening here.

  • wait so ks 3d space harrier getting a 3d remake or is space harrier getting a 3d remake? both were different games.

  • Yesss!!!
