The lights are on
According to Japanese gaming site Gamer, Space Harrier is getting a stereoscopic update and making its way to 3DS. Apparently, along with the new 3D support, the gamewill also be in widescreen. There is no word on a releases date for Japan, nor is there any kind of confirmation that this will be making its way to North America.
As far as classic games getting added 3D support, Space Harrier has to be one of the best candidates.

There isnt a more perfect gaming device to bring back Space Harrier. The 3D effects are going to be AMAZING!!
That'll look pretty cool, but that game could seriously use an overhaul. It has not aged particularly well. Framerate is not one of it's strong points.
Ha ha, this'll be great!
True Story: The first time I played Space Harrier was in Shenmue for the Dreamcast. It was at the arcade and it was awesome.
I'm still trying to unlock Space Harrier on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. :/ effing Super Thunder Blade....
haha! this will be nice!
Well, guess I might have the chance to try this out for the first time then.
Hey! I played this game on like an arcade mix on my GBA. I liked it.
Arrrrghhhh..............................Get Ready!
This will be a great game in widescreen 3D on the 3DS! I'll make sure to check it out if it ever hits the North American eShop. I've never played this game before, but i've heard good things about it.
Forgot about this game, but I played the hell out of it on NES. That's when 3D made everything Blue/Red fuzzy.
They better make it right.
A good 3D classic would be Star Fox on SNES. Could sell it cheap in the eShop, which I'm assuming is what's happening here.
wait so ks 3d space harrier getting a 3d remake or is space harrier getting a 3d remake? both were different games.
Yesss!!!
