The lights are on
Blizzard released this trailer showcasing some of the highlights of its MMO's long reign atop the massively multiplayer market. How many of these moments were you there for?
I have to say, Karazhan is still the best multiplayer dungeon experience I've ever had. Period.
Anyway, November 23rd is World of Warcraft's eighth birthday, and Blizzard is giving out a Feat of Strength and a celebration package to everyone who logs in between November 18 and December 1 to commemorate the event. One of my saddest memories in WoW was around the time that Cata came out. I went into Outland late at night and it seemed super calm. After checking the zones I saw that there was literally not one single person in Outland on my server, and I realized that Outland was dead, and I would never be able to go back and play BC the way it was played when it first released. BC was the best.
Was playing since 2 weeks after it came out. Many memories of new adventures, seeing locations with new eyes. This game was epic to say the least. Now it's the same ol' same ol', and I can't see myself enjoying it at all.
The first time I finally made the long travel from Darnassus to Ironforge and climbing the hill to the entrance literally took my breath away... It's times like that that are now lost to me. Even wandering through landscapes post-cataclysm didn't pack the punch I was hoping for.
In the end, there were too much endgame, devote and waste an insane amount of time to raids in hopes to get weapons and/or armor just to do it over again... I agree though. Out of all the content I went through, Karazhan was wicked deal.
I got over my addiction for Wow but it has been a great journey and some of the best memories I've ever experienced.
Check out those *** graphics! Yeahh!!!
Used to love WOW until my guild fell apart about three years ago. Then I lost interest. Tried to get back into it during the last expansion but just couldn't do it.
WoW was and still is one of the deepest gaming experiences possible. I remember debating with a friend over our cell phones on release day of the initial release if the $15 a month was worth it. Pre- BC was a time of my life that I will never forget and will never be duplicated. I still have a sub to WoW but hardly have the time for it that it deserves.
Thanks Blizz for the memories!
"How many of these moments were you there for?" All of them :p I've played the game since the European launch, which was in February 2005 (as far as I remember).. And I have to agree with Adam, Karazhan was a brilliantly designed dungeon..
Great video! I had some fun times playing WoW. I do miss it, but I've finally moved on from it. I'm glad it's still as successful as it is for Blizzard.
My mind is blown !
Even though I don't play WoW anymore, I still have massive respect for it. While it did have a lot of ups and down, especially with Cata, I had some of my best gaming moments while raiding Icecrown Citadel, Ulduar, Karazhan, Black Temple, etc.. Even though the game has become something that I don't want to be involved with anymore, I will always have those fun moments of raiding with friends. Thanks WoW!
Good times. I haven't been back to WoW in years though...
The game was so great when it was complex and a actual challenge... nowdays its simple to get maxed level, i remember how hard it was getting from 1-60... then 60-70. Now days there is no need to explore the world, just sit in a city and wait for your queue. The game... was... great.
I only played the free trial version for Wow, but i can say that it's a pretty decent game. I have played Warcraft 3 before though, and i loved playing it! I installed Wow starter edition on my pc, and created my Troll Warlock called Trollisboss on dunemar server. I recently playd again making an orc warrior, and i wish i can hurry and kill some Alliance fools with my ax!
Everquest...best MMO ever!
