Karaoke Comes To Xbox Live Arcade

Microsoft announced a new Karaoke game available this holiday that allows users to stream over 8,000 songs directly through the console.

"Songs can be queued via the top navigation through search, browse or SmartGlass integration, which connects a tablet or mobile device to the Xbox 360 console," Microsoft says. "Songs can be added to Favorites so they’re super-easy to find, or can be found through the History list to sing them over and over again. Other options include key change and a lead vocal track to help sing less familiar songs."

An Xbox 360 Headset, Xbox Wireless Microphone or an Xbox 360 compatible USB microphone is required to access all of the features. Songs are added to the library on a regular basis, Microsoft says. Full access to the entire library is available for blocks of 2, 6 or 24 hours by redeeming Microsoft Points.

  • Uhhhh............ I prefer singing in the shower. Hahha does anyone else?
  • This is actually...nice. My wife and I love doing karaoke, but sometimes you can't get out to the bar to do so. This way you can have friends over, pay for a 2 hour block, and have everyone do karaoke in the living room! Very nice, indeed.
  • Oh god...
  • if they price it right i can see it being pretty cool, and access to all the songs is the right way to go.

i just think ms is gonna charge to much for this

  • What's with all these Karaoke games. Sony just made SingStar free to download and now this
  • This needs to be a Test Chamber!

  • If they can include a huge selection of songs that come free with the game (unlike Rock Band or Guitar Hero) this is gonna be awesome.

  • Unless they let me sing Cry Thunder by Dragonforce or Perfect Insanity by Disturbed I doubt I'll be getting it.

  • First the Stand-Up comedy game, now a Karaoke game; pretty soon they'll just make a game which is people going to a bar and hitting on the one decent-looking chick until you black out and wake up in the street.

  • I would rather pay a more premium price, and just have unlimited access.  Pay per play so to speak doesn't really appeal to me very much.  But I suppose if it was just something you did once in a while it could be ok.  Doubt I'll be using it though.

There are Karaoke games out there (sort of) already that have a library, although smaller, but you only have to pay once for a song and then it's yours to use whenever you want.

  • sounds cool. I want to learn more about this game!

  • What happened to that lips thing?

  • Wooh! Exactly what i was waiting for! This is gonna be great!
  • Under what name is this so I may download it? I can add it to my other music games.
