Nuketown 2025 Returns To Black Ops II Online Playlist

Update: The Nuketown 2025 map has returned to the online playlist, albeit in a slightly different way.

According to a report from Gamespot, Treyarch has returned the map to a new playlist called Chaos Moshpit, where it is mixed in with others like Slums and Standoff.

 

Original Story: Treyarch and Activision have pulled the Nuketown 2025 map from the game's multiplayer playlist. Design director David Vonderhaar said on Twitter it will be back for "special events."

"Double XP weekend is official [sic] over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don't kill the messenger," he said. "Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 will be back for special events. You can always play it with your friends in Custom Games."

Nuketown 2025 was originally offered as a pre-order bonus. Game Informer has contacted Activision for additional comment.

    Well, won't bother me one bit. Was probably the worst map out of all the others anyhow.

    This is a chicken shzznt maneuver by Treyarch. You can't bait people into pre-ordering with the Nuketown 2025 map and then take it away. That's complete bull squat!!! How is that legal? We bought the game thinking we were getting the map for our use and they just get to take it away? WTF? F Treyarch!

    This is great news for me. I have always hated that map. Then again I have only really loved the level design in MW 1 & 2.

    wow, that is lame. hey you guys want a pre order bonus? well you can only use it for a week. Activision is messing up so hard, this has been the worse COD release, by far.

    I noticed it this morning, and I was pretty mad. I had the most fun in Black Ops 2 playing hardpoint on Nuketown 2025.

    First you F up Zombies to the point of being unplayable and now this.

    Your fanbase just gave you half a billion dollars + in one day.

    At least pretend we matter to you than just $!

    I'm sorry, but I thought 24/7 meant 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Now Activision is lying to their fanbase. Anyways, I suspect that I'll be seeing some form of petition within the next week.

    This is such bullsh**. I payed money for this map, I want to be able to play it.

    First they give the map to everyone who buys it, regardless of preorder, now they just take it away altogether?

    I'm thinking that I'll be returning my game quite soon, and I'll just go back to Halo 4.

    ummm.....what does Activision get out of this? Cause all i can see is a bunch of pissed fans! I mean, they paid the $5 preorder fee, and only get the map for a week? I know it'll back for "special events", but those are few and far between. Seems like a Dick move to me.

    What about the "We never close" part of the description? Come on... you can't even play it in a public match anymore; I'm not going to get much use out of the download...
