The lights are on
Since the release of the Artorias of the Abyss content for Dark Souls on console, a number of players have reported issues with the game, which include flickering textures and even enemies turning invisible.
It's unclear how widepread the issue is or whether or not it's exclusive to PlayStation 3 versions. "We’re currently looking into the reports of the glitch," Namco Bandai told Game Informer. "Once we have more news to share, we will do so immediately so we can continue to bring our fans the best Dark Souls experience possible."
User reports also suggest the glitching only occurs when playing online and in the download content area.
A YouTube video below shows the glitches in action.
Artorias of the Abyss released on October 23 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
I sent in a tip for this a few days back, good to see Namco is addressing it.
I think there's already a patch out for the Japanese PS3 version.
Poor Namco :(
Invisable enemies? Just another day at the office in the realm of dark souls!
For all we know, the invisible enemies might just be Dark Souls difficulty in its prime. ;-)
That's gotta be a pain when it comes to magic-based attacks in PvP. Lag AND invisibility. Fun times.
wow. "enemies turning invisible" hahaha!
I have this issue going on in my game right now and I must say it is really annoying. The rest of the game is great and I have already beaten the new content a few times but getting hit by invisible spells from players and from the caster type enemies is a real pain.
I haven't run into anything too serious but the flickering textures are pretty annoying. Gave me flashbacks to the N64 days.
yeh I had this problem when I played it, all messages/summon signs were blinking. I also managed to skip a few bonfires because the fire wasnt showing up, and the humanity enemies are the invisible ones they are talking about, they were very frustrating because they kept flickering when i tried to fight them
this glitch has beeen driving me nuts :/
