The lights are on
Rumors are circulating that Ubisoft is working to get a Splinter Cell movie off the ground, and Tom Hardy -- who recently played Bane in this summers The Dark Knight Rises -- could be on tap for the lead role.
Ain't It Cool News recently reported that Ubisoft is moving to build up a film division that would produce films based on it's many popular franchises. Not only is Michael Fassbender (Prometheus and Inglourious Basterds) being looked at for a film version of Assassin's Creed, but Hardy is being asked to star in the Splinter Cell film. According to Variety, Eric Warren Singer (The International) is apparently already working on a script for Splinter Cell. Who knows how far into production these films will actually venture -- Hollywood projects have a tendency to fizzle out -- but it would be interesting to see if these films actually make it into the theater.
Would would you like to see direct these films?

I really don't see how video game movie aren't always done well. There is no reason they should be limited by the stories in games, just give them the access to the license and hire some good actors.
So by Bane you meant Bronson (aka Tom Hardy), not Bane. Thanks for getting my hopes up from what I'm sure would have been an awful cross-over movie.
Tom Hardy is awesome so i will defintley keep my eyes on the movie.
Sweet! Tom Hardy rocks!!!
When I first read the title I thought, that the Bane would be one of the characters =O.
Splinter Cell would make a great movie, and Hardy would make it even better.
Christopher Nolan would do Splinter Cell justice IMO.
