Disc Misprint Leaves Fan Out Of Black Ops 2

A YouTube video surfaced last night of one Call of Duty fan trying to install Black Ops 2 on his PC, only to later find out the game's second disc is actually for Mass Effect 2. Whoops! It's still unclear how widespread this purported issue is. Activision has been reached for comment.

Game package screw ups happen from time to time. Heck, earlier today it was discovered demo discs for The Lego Lord of the Rings were in retail boxes. But to have different data printed on a disc from a different publisher and a nearly three year old game is astonishing.

The video below contains foul language.

  • LOL what!! the odds of this happening on the same day as that lego disc debaucle, must be tiny... that is pretty funny...
  • Curious how that even happens. Two different publishers.
  • Y2K?
  • Obligatory "it's just a reminder to Blops 2 players what a good game looks like" post.
  • If he had an internet connection he could just input the CD key and download the game. Seeing a D3 shortcut would tell me that he does so this is little more than an annoyance.
  • lol disk 2 - ME2. haha

  • If it's just the one guy it happened to, sounds like a possible inside job at the store.
  • What is going on with these misprints today? These games aren't even made by the some company or publisher.
  • Ha!!

  • Only time something like this happened to me was when I bought The Simpsons: Road Rage for Gamecube from Target.  Uncased it and found a demo disc for six games I had never heard of.  Took it back to the store for a replacement.

  • wow that is insane, i cant help but get the feeling that this is some anti-COD guy messing around.
i will believe it when i see another report like this.

EDIT: ok now i have heard of multiple reports of this. i take back what i said about the guy and the situation.
  • In his defense, ME2 is probably better. ME2 is one of those games that was sent to us from the Heavens, whereas BLOPS 2 is another CoD. But how did this happen when even the PUBLISHERS are the two biggest competitors of each other?

Also, who spilled coffee on their desk?

  • Penitenziagite!

  • I wouldn't be too upset

  • Double Gulp!

  • Unless there are other reports of this, its probably fake or someone at the store messing with this guy. Also, you don't need the disks to install the game. Once you add it to your Steam account you can just download it. So its not an issue even if this is legit... which I dobut it is.
  • Wait, this is great news! He gets two free games! Nice job man! :)
  • WOW that is lame! His voice-over was funny!

  • Secret agents from television have infiltrated the production lines of gaming companies and are switching disks to try and undermine the credibility of developers and have less people playing games to have more people watch TV. It's a conspiracy I tell you!

  • Haha wow that sucks.
